Company wins 3-year framework to deliver boreholes to drive Ground source heat pumps

Centrica Business Solutions has selected G Stow, a UK leading borehole engineering and drilling specialist, to deliver boreholes for ground source heating following a recent competitive tender process.

The team at G Stow will help Centrica in its objective to deliver a more cost and carbon efficient solution to its commercial, industrial and public sector clients; drilling both open and closed loop borehole systems to drive ground source heat pumps that are growing in popularity as a replacement or complement to combined heat and power plant.

This news follows hot on the heels of the recent appointment of Iain Coleman to lead its EV charging infrastructure solutions division, as the business continues to grow its sustainable solutions arm to support its clients on their decarbonisation journeys.

Richard has worked in the heating industry for equipment manufacturers, heating system installers and as a building services design consultant, acquiring an in-depth knowledge of all things heating. In the last ten years, Richard has worked for heat pump manufacturers as well as renewables sales and installers.

South Staffordshire Plc is harnessing the significant expertise within its Group companies –to offer a unique end-to-end ground source heating solution for district heating, ambient loops and ultimately carbon reduction.

G Stow announces the new flagship drilling rig!

G Stow, owned by South Staffordshire PLC (SSI) are pleased to announce the arrival of their flagship drilling rig, the Fraste FS 500.

We wanted a drilling rig that complied to all the latest safety regulations, that was capable of drilling flooded reverse and could handle 914mm casing and the FS 500 met this criterion.

G Stow has a wide customer base from the national water companies to the commercial and industrial sector. As the FS 500 is truly a multipurpose drilling rig we will be offering:

  • large diameter flooded reverse drilling for abstraction boreholes of all sizes.
  • De-watering boreholes.
  • Drilling of open loop GSHP borehole from 304mm diameter to 610mm diameter completions
  • Conventional mud and air rotary drilling.
  • DTH hammer drilling.
