G Stow PLC has successfully passed the Achilles UVDB verify (Category B2) audit.

G Stow PLC has successfully passed the Achilles UVDB verify (Category B2) audit, with a 100% pass rate across all subject areas. 

During a two-day audit, G Stow PLC were assessed on internal management systems, processes and operational procedures.  The company’s on-site production of a new abstraction borehole was also audited. 

The the company successfully achieved 100% in areas that include Health and Safety, Environment, Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility. 

This is a great achievement, highlighting commitment to maintaining comprehensive management systems and processes, and the effective management of health, safety and environmental systems. 

The audit provides pre-qualification assurance for utilities and commercial customers,  enabling G Stow PLC to access suitably pre-qualified suppliers they can confidently invite to tender for their requirements. Successfully passing and achieving a 100% score will allow G Stow PLC to continue to provide essential operational support to the water utilities industry. 

What is Achilles UVDB Verify Audit? 

Achilles UVDB (Utility Vendor Database) is a pre-qualification scheme that is designed to ensure accountability and ethical considerations throughout the utility sector within the UK. 

Achilles UVDB Verify is an independent audit of an organisation’s Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ) management systems and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). 

G Stow joins the Ground Source Heat Pump Association

The borehole drilling and maintenance specialist becomes a member of the UK heat pump installation industry trade association.

G Stow, South Staffordshire Plc’s UK leading borehole drilling and maintenance specialist, has joined the Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA). The GSHPA, the UK’s heat pump installation industry trade association, is the voice for low running cost, low carbon, heating and cooling systems for domestic and commercial buildings and heat sharing networks.

This latest announcement follows the recent news that Centrica Business Solutions has selected G Stow to deliver boreholes for ground source heating and the appointment of Richard Canning as South Staffordshire Plc’s new head of ground source heat pump services.

Company wins 3-year framework to deliver boreholes to drive Ground source heat pumps

Centrica Business Solutions has selected G Stow, a UK leading borehole engineering and drilling specialist, to deliver boreholes for ground source heating following a recent competitive tender process.

The team at G Stow will help Centrica in its objective to deliver a more cost and carbon efficient solution to its commercial, industrial and public sector clients; drilling both open and closed loop borehole systems to drive ground source heat pumps that are growing in popularity as a replacement or complement to combined heat and power plant.

Richard has worked in the heating industry for equipment manufacturers, heating system installers and as a building services design consultant, acquiring an in-depth knowledge of all things heating. G Stow announces the new flagship drilling rig!

G Stow, owned by South Staffordshire PLC (SSI) are pleased to announce the arrival of their flagship drilling rig, the Fraste FS 500.

We wanted a drilling rig that complied to all the latest safety regulations, that was capable of drilling flooded reverse and could handle 914mm casing and the FS 500 met this criterion.

G Stow has a wide customer base from the national water companies to the commercial and industrial sector. As the FS 500 is truly a multipurpose drilling rig we will be offering:

  • large diameter flooded reverse drilling for abstraction boreholes of all sizes.
  • De-watering boreholes.
